Hi,
As you’ve probably noticed I haven’t made an entry for a little while, and I could use that statement to launch into a very smutty tirade, but I won’t. I’ve been a bit depressed. I’m not sure if I am going to continue to write the diary. I’m conflicted about it. For a start it seems that Yahoo is about to pull the plug on Geocities (later on this summer apparently) and as far as I can glean that means free websites or websites with a geocities plus plan that don’t upgrade to a new hosting plan will be deleted. Shane already thinks it’s madness for me to pay a monthly fee to air my witterings and I really can’t decide whether I want to commit to shelling out for another paid hosting plan. I really don’t like the way Yahoo has gone about this whole thing. It smells of blackmail…pay out or we’ll delete overnight all the hard work you’ve put in over years. I chose Geocities because it’s easy to use and I’m not sure what other options are out there that match it for ease of use. As things stand I don’t know if I have the enthusiasm to start up again. I’ll look around and see what’s available.
